PS3 price too good to be true?

Post by aircommando13 »

i was looking for the MGS4 80gb PS3 bundle today, and I managed to find a brand new one on a website significantly lower than everybody else, for $429.99, compared to $499.99. Plus there's no tax, no shipping cost, and it comes with a bluetooth headset. Also if you enter the promo code for %15 items over $100, the final price reduces to $365.40! Great deal or too good to be true? Should I risk it?

I only found this page when I searched reseller ratings for mybisi... http://www.resellerratings.com/store/iSolutions_Retail

4 reviews, all Very Dissatisfied. Take it for what you will, but I'd probably steer clear.

Well, I got mine straight from Sony. At the time, the MGS4 bundle was $499, but if you applied for their credit card, you got $100 credit. No bluetooth or free shipping, but at the time I couldn't get it lower.

I see that the base price for the 80-gig is $399 now, and Sony is still running the $100 off your first purchase with their credit card. You can probably pick up the game used or on sale from GameStop (or wherever) for $40-$50.

No Bluetooth include, but every Bluetooth that I've tried works with the PS3 so if you have one already, just use it. Not sure what city you are in, but if you have a Sony store, you can just go and grab it up.

Just built a bundle with MGS4 and the Blu-ray remote for $469. After the Sony Card discount, this is $370 with a remote that I think is worth more than the headset, imo.

Just giving you another option.

I would definitly go with what DP says. You can get almost the same deal with Sony, and no worries about the service.

I am using a bunch of my USB ports, but since I never had a PS2, I haven't used that hardly at all. My nephew had a PS2 and got the original 80GB PS3 but was saying not all PS2 games work. If you have a huge collection of PS2 games and want to continue playing them, I think you will need to break out the old PS2...then again, once you get your PS3 and have a look at MGS4 and GT5P (and others), you will not want to go back. 8)

When you get your bill there is a $100 credit shown. I think mine posted two days after I made the purchase. You also get 12-month intrest-free financing (or at least I did before the financial meltdown).

Hmm..I did mine on the net and they gave me a response almost right away and a approved number I could use to buy a Sony product online or in the SonyStyle store. You might want to give them a call and check.

I think my card got to me within a week anyway.

I'm looking at my old documents and it looks like there was a page that popped up reading, "Congratulations, your approved! Your credit line is $xxxx."

It went on to say that my card would be mailed to me within 2 weeks, but it also gave me a temporary CARD ID for online purchases.

They probably knew how much $$ my wife made and approved me right away. :)

Finally got it back, and it was declined because I already have too many deals with the distributor(chase)

well that was a waste of time. Picked it up from best buy, and preordered COD5. YAY happy ending.
