Motherboards

Post by jeff213 »

Hey everyone. I recently purchased 2 ATI 4850 cards and am looking for a motherboard that can run it in Crossfire to maximum potential. I know most boards only have X16, X4 or X16, X8 when running Crossfire and that the speed of both cards is lowered to the smallest value. Are there any motherboards that take FULL potential of ATI Crossfire X and run full speed, which is X16, X16?

Yeah, X38 or X48 boards do.

8x 8x works pretty well for crossfire, especially if it is pcie 2.0 as that has double the bandwidth so it effectively should be like 16x16x pcie 1.1

The best platform would be one with two PCIe 2.0 slots that are both x16.
