installed FAHmon yesterday

Post by stopthekilling77 »

So I installed FAHmon yesterday just out of curiosity, and set it up according to a walkthrough, and I'm not seeing squat.
Do I have an issue or should I just be patient and let it do it's thing?

Black means that fahmon can't see the folding clients. You linked to the correct directory (I think its the one with your logs)?

Short of that, the clients are both running aren't they?
(that should make fahmon have a red box, but you never know with it being first time)

Ok, then, as it's your birthday you can have a point.

(But I get that point for telling you about your NB / CPU locations :P)

Fine. Damn thing is quiet though

stopthekilling, FAhmon can take up to 3 frames before it registers change, so once you change directories, don't be surprised if nothing changes

STK... in XP, the work path for the GPU install is;

C:\Documents and Settings\DaIceMan\Application Data\Folding@home-gpu

What client is the 6750 using? is it the x86 with viewer or without? If it's with viewer, I believe it auto installs like the GPU client. Without viewer, I think you have to manually extract and run from there so the path would be diff. Let me know which client it is and I'll install it to find the correct path for you.

*note to self: Add path instructions to install thread*

One other issue pertaining to folding (and just about any program, but folding ATM) is when I hover over the system tray icons, the banner hides behind the toolbar.
I don't want to do the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties > [uncheck] Keep the taskbar on top of other windows - option because that kills my multitasking with several programs up or having to wait that extra second for the toolbar to pop back up :axe:

It didn't use to do this to me o.O

You have to have .NET 2.0 or greater installed, then install Tool Tip Fixer. Works great, using it on every machine I own, build, service to overcome the annoyance.

No I'm correct in what I said, as you were. Its because the developers don't fully know how to integrate code to use the task bar correctly. Mainly because they can't see the source code for the task bar
