I believe you can get charged for assault here in the states for that too. A few years ago a cop gave me a warning after I yelled at a lady for wrecking my truck.

Well, you are 8 feet tall, and she was in a wheelchair.

I will have to read this article. Was it ulcers? I can't imagine a chili killing someone.

Read the article briefly. I don't understand why the Chilis are connected to the heart attack.

i have never heard of someone having a heart attack from chili eating, and i have made hot sauce with over 100 chilies in it and little else (and ate it of course)
the bit about about him itching and scratching sounds like an allergic reaction to something.

Definitely sounds like an allergy to something.

I've seen (and tasted) hot sauce that will literally take your breath away. I watched my former boss, who loved hot stuff, take a tiny drop of a sauce that came with the following warning: "Do not consume this product if you have any medical conditions especially heart problems"

Dave took that tiny drop and was unable to catch his breath for several minutes. His lips even turned blue. But that was an immediate reaction, not hours later.

Hmmm, I happen to have two of those Scotch bonnet peppers in the kitchen. They've been patiently waiting for me to get a special ingredient for my super special PB&J that will be placed in the fridge. :snakeman:

No, I switched fridges and haven't had a problems since. But I never planted the it-would-really-make-me-feel-better-as-a-person-if-someone-had-to-suffer-a-bit sandwich. I keep forgetting a key ingredient at the store. And since it only happened on Mondays, then it would be pointless to throw in later in the week.

it used to be years ago, now its not even close to this; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naga_Jolokia_pepper which has measured a million scoville units vs. 150,000 to 300,000 for the Scotch Bonnet.

I'm still trying to find the plant locally

They my be hard to find. Looks like it needs the right climate. What you posted, I thought very funny, In northeastern India the peppers are smeared on fences or used in smoke bombs as a safety precaution to keep wild elephants at a distance, how cool is that.

The hottest one to date (climate affects the scoville ratings) was actually grown at a University in New Mexico i believe and have heard of some people in FL growing them although i dont know anyone. sooner or later i'll find them!

That was back in like 1994. I can't remember the name of the sauce. I was doing car audio installations at the time and the running bet was to make Dave, the shop owner, say "that's hot." We had tried habaneros sauce and flakes (the flakes were retarded in my opinion. Why not just harvest a couple dozen fire ants and put them in your mouth? I like hot but DAMN!  )

Anyway, Dave just laughed off all the attempts. Then one of the guys picked up this sauce in St Louis at the airport. Came in a little wooden crate with the warning label on it. Needless to say, that guy won as those were the first words out of Dave's mouth once he was able to talk again.

One of the original gourmet hot sauces, outside of tabasco and some of the mexican hot sauces (20 minutes from TJ here) this was one of the contributing factors in turning me into a pepperhead....
