Legit Reviews Folding VMs

Post by dicecca112 »

I'm going to be working on these this weekend. It'll be built of Intrepid Mini Iso, with the bare minimum installed, I'm talking no WM, just CLI. Only problem is, I have no way to host them. Anyone willing to host these, they'll be 100mb-700mb depending on the VM.

Sounds good, just a suggestion, put a startfah script and a fahconfig script in /usr/bin/ so that people don't need to cd to a certain directory to start folding...I've been meaning to add something like this to my guide just haven't had the time to rewrite it.

Good luck with the VM though! :supz:

Also, maybe try sourceforge or rapidshare? IDK much about those sites terms though 8-[

That's the plan either a cron job that checks if its running, or put it in rc.local

I haven't forgotten about this, I have rudimentary VMs running here. We are going to bittorent them. What I can do is load them up on my Laptop at home, and leave it up from Tonight over the weekend. They are large 6GBs in total, I will get this much much lower. These are built off of Ubuntu 8.10 Server, I had to install the desktop because I was configuring some things. That will be removed along with a lot of other crap. I can get it to 2.0GBs no problem with a desktop, I hope to get it lower. I need seeders. So if you leave your comp on to fold, would you be so kind as to leave it on to Seed?

I don't have the fastest connection but I'd be glad to seed it once you have the VM finished... :supz:

I might be interested in joining the team. You should try edit the VM made by martini161 to get it even smaller.

There's no reason why it can't be very small as all thats required is basic features.
