I don't pre-order games, but as long as nothing bad comes to my attention, then I will be buying this on release.

I saw a TV add, and it looked like a game with really poor textures, then it flashed the FarCry 2 logo. I REALLY hope it was the xbox version and not the PC version.

yep. saw the commercial for it earlier during a football game and thought that a Wednesday release seemed odd. GoGamer has it listed as Oct 21.

This may very well be a testimonial to how rarely I play games but I haven't even finished FC 1 yet! I am thinking about installing the 64 bit version of the original since I'm farting around with Vista Ultimate 64 bit and it came with something else I bought (maybe my motherboard) when I first built this system 3 years ago. I'm still freaking out over how much better my graphics look on this OS even with the crappy onboard graphics card.

Out of curiosity, is the graphics improvement due to Vista or the 64 bit version of it? I've never done anything with a 64 bit OS.

I'm sure they already have. On the gamespot forums (terrible community, but the only game site I can go to at work) everyone is saying that the DRMs for games are killing the PC gaming industry, even though FC2 was leaked on Xbox 3 weeks ago. Some people say that they won't buy games with DRM install limits.

And yet the games still sell like hotcakes.
TBH if the game is good enough, people would rather buy it, play it, and have the right to complain

That's where I sit, even if it means missing out on a good game.

I pre-ordered this for the 360. Thought it was supposed to come out yesterday but I haven't received a call saying it's in. Might have to drop by there and see if it's out today.

Supposedly the MP is really good. I haven't had a chance to read any reviews or testimonials about that. Has anyone here gotten a copy already and played MP?

I remember reading somewhere that Far Cry 2 on Xbox 360 is equivilent to PC on medium settings.

Im going to wait and get it on PC. Mods should be great for an open world.

I would too, but my pc is a couple of years old and wouldn't handle it. One of the nice things about a console, don't have to upgrade every time a new game comes out.

Did you see any 360 versions on the shelf? I went down to EB Games today and they said it wasn't out until thursday or friday. WTF? Games and movies always release on tuesday.

Fallout 3 better be on time or I'll be choked.
