A quickie question about controllers

Post by unfaithfulsfan »

I'm heading out to *gag* best buy after dinner or Wal mart to get a couple games for my new graphics card (yay at long last! :supz: :supz: ) I was looking at the xbox 360 wireless controller for Windows. Any thoughts on it or should I just stick with the keyboard. I'm kinda torn really. I'm not a console gamer but I remember the whole force feedback deal in its infancy and thought it was pretty cool 10 or so years ago. Plus thought it might be interesting to try using a different controller rather than the keyboard. What do y'all think about it vs keyboard.

If anyone should have any advice (before about 7 pm EST would be awesome), please share it. I'm in new territory here and damn glad of it!!! I'm not planning on sleeping much this weekend!!

Thanks
Jack

depends on what kind of games you play. FPS keyboard and mouse will always win, the same in true in RTS. the only games where i can use a controller are sports games, racing and platformers

I would use the controller for racing games. Other than that I use keyboard.

Thanks. Guess it's just as well that I didn't buy a controller since the game I settled on was BioShock....

I got it more for what I'd read about the graphics and although I'm just getting into it, they are pretty cool so far compared to what I've been used to. I'm sure I'm going to see a lot of that before it's over though! I came within a thread of buying the Orange Box because I loved HL1 although I only beat it once  . I picked up Call of Duty GOTY today for $9 so I'm going to delve off into that for a while.

Orange box is just spectacular, 5 games for the price of one! Get it whenever you get the chance.
