nice should be around 4500 points a day or higher if the shaders are overclocked.

9600GSO in my wife's rig, running at 625/1810/900, Project 5013 work unit is dropping 5340ppd as we speak. Not that it really matters, but the rig is an E6400 overclocked to 2.4Ghz, mATX Asus mobo, 2gb ram.
Glad to have the added productivity!!
Use the Precision overclocking tool linked above, and slowly move your shaders up to the max stable. Be sure to keep an eye on your work log so you don't get a lot of lost units due to UNSTABLE MACHINE or EARLY UNIT END. This is a sign your overclock is too high and should be backed down a bit.Apoptosis wrote:I suggest EVGA Precision 1.3.2 for overclocking as it's super easy to use, free and works on brands other than EVGA... You can download it from here - http://www.majorgeeks.com/EVGA_Precision_d6021.html

Re: 9600GSO in the game now too
Yeah I found that out on my 8600gt on another system at home. I have to take it out and remount the heatsink on it. The temps say that it got to 63c but that shouldn't be too much for it I would think. I hope to have it folding properly tonight.
I'll OC the card some and see what the temps are. I have the fan running at 100%. A little loud but not too bad.

foog666, I have the same processor that I have OC@ 3.2. I have a xfx gtx280 folding as well. I would think you will be getting the same points or maybe a little better than me. I fold under the name victor/natasha.
You can download this program http://fahmon.net/ and you can see your stats at http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... s=&t=38296

Re: 9600GSO in the game now too
Hey thanks for the links, very helpful. After I found out what my PPD was, I'm kinda disappointed. I was hoping for 5 or 6k, but not even close,I'm only getting 3082 PPD. ATI cards are still not up to par with Nvidia. You're getting more than double the points I have. I have a laptop that is running the regular cpu client and a desktop that is running the GPU and a regular cpu client to,thats 24/7. Do you think if I stop the cpu client on the desktop, maybe it will pickup my GPU client ??? I fold under the name Reginald23 .vbironchef wrote:foog666, I have the same processor that I have OC@ 3.2. Re: 9600GSO in the game now too
Apoptosis would know more about ATI cards. He has 2 of the graphic cards you have in one rig. Not sure if he has tried folding yet. Just remember that the GPU2 client needs one core for itself. If you have it set up that way you will get more points and it will be faster. On your qx6700 you should set up one SMP client and one GPU2 client. Have the SMP run on three cores and the GPU2 client run on the other core. On your laptop I would just run the GPU client. If your laptop has a 8 series or faster you should run the GPU2 client. I would try diferent ways to see which is best for your laptop. Just be careful of your temps on your rigs.

Re: 9600GSO in the game now too
I think you need to fold with two GPU2 clients to get both cores on the X2 working (if you haven't already).
It is true that nvidia cards get more points though, but I don't think you have a second GPU2 client set up.

Re: 9600GSO in the game now too
I didn't think it was possible to run two GPU2 clients on a 4870X2 because of crossfire, atleast from what I read. I will look into it.
Re: 9600GSO in the game now too
You have to disable Crossfire and treat them as two separate GPU's in the same system.foog666 wrote:I didn't think it was possible to run two GPU2 clients on a 4870X2 because of crossfire, atleast from what I read. I will look into it.
