Basically, I can access the site everywhere but home. I've restarted the modem, upgraded the firmware on my router, hard reset both, and still no go. I even connected my PC directly to the modem and I still can't access the site. However, it works fine for most people and it works fine at school. Anyone got an idea why I can't get onto the folding forum? It's been over a week since I started to encounter this problem.

Hmm, interesting I can hit it fine. Did you clear your cookies for the site?

Re: Can't Get to Folding Forum
Tried on both IE and Firefox. It doesn't work.

Re: Can't Get to Folding Forum
This could be a number of things from the dns resolver cache to a phishing filter on the browser. We'll start with doing a quick, down and dirty diagnostic.
Quick lowdown for anyone that doesn't know how to do these two commands.
in xp
Click on start, click run. Type in "cmd" and then press enter. To see if you can ping it, type in "ping 99.198.108.202" You can also type "ping foldingforum.org" If you can ping the ip address, but not foldingforum.org, then you may need to flush the dns resolver cache. It's as simple as typing in "ipconfig /flushdns" .Then see if you can ping it. If you can't ping it either way, try another website like forums.legitreviews.com or yahoo.com. If you can ping them, then do a tracert to foldingforums.org. Type it in as "tracert foldingforum.org" . It will give you every pingable connection between you and foldingforum.org. This will allow you to see where the connection is failing.
In all above examples remove the quotes when typing out the actual command.
In vista, you will have to go to start menu/all programs/accessories/command prompt. You may want to right click on command prompt and choose run as administrator. After the UAC confirmation, everything is the same.
If this doesn't help, then it might be a phishing filter in IE 7 or third party security application. Because you said it happens in both IE and FF, I tend to think it's not the security settings on your browser. However, if you have mcafee, avast or norton, I would temporarily disable them to make sure they're not causing the problem. If you want to be thorough, you can check IE by clicking on tools and then clicking on phishing filter. If it says turn on phishing filter, then it's already off. If it says turn off phishing filter, click it to turn it off. You might also want to check windows built in firewall to make sure the site hasn't been blocked there either. I normally disable it. To disable it in vista and xp, you can go to control panel, security center and then click on windows firewall over to the left in vista. The link is near the bottom in xp. Once you click on it, this will allow you to disable or enable it. An alternate route in xp is go to network connections or right click on network places and choose properties, then , right click on the connection you're using choose properties again. Go to advanced. from there you should be able to click on settings and turn it off. If that doesn't work and you haven't disabled your antivirus and don't want to, you can always boot into safe mode with networking to see if you can connect to it there. If you still can't, then chances are it's not on your system. Unless you have a router that could be blocking access to it. lol

I disabled Kaspersky and Ad-Aware, and still no go. Tried connecting my comp directly to the modem, no go as well. I'm gonna try your method now and report back.
Pinging 99.198.108.202 and foldingforum.org gives me 100% loss. However, when I typed "ping http://foldingforum.org/", and "ping 8.15.7.107", I get replies back from the site.

Re: Can't Get to Folding Forum
Looks like a problem outside of your home network is probably causing this. Are you having similar problems with any other site? Also, do you have another computer to try to connect to it on?
Re: Can't Get to Folding Forum
Looks like you are being blocked at the foldingforums.org ip the last hop should have been the connection ( ns1.m202.sgded.com [99.198.108.202])
have you tried going through a anonymous proxy to see if you can connect?

Re: Can't Get to Folding Forum
I tried using ALL of my household computers to get to folding forum, and still no go. So I've rounded it down to it being something to do with my ISP.
Tried using UltraSurf proxy just now and I was able to get onto the Folding Forum. So I guess it has something to do with my ISP?
Also, while I was testing out it out, I read that the new NVIDIA 180.70 allowed the GPU client to use virtually 0 CPU utilization. He didn't state whether he's using XP or Vista, but that's a good sign.
