Team 38296 Official Progress Thread

Post by DaIceMan »

Thought it would be nice to have a central thread for placing all our Teams achievements, like the Milestone Thread for members.

So... Congrats LR for taking over position 95!!!! As of right now, next up is Rechenkraft.net - Germany sitting just 2.7 days away.

Nice Job everyone!

I am hoping to join you all on your journey to #1. My fiancee wants me to wait till Christmas to get all my stuff for my new pc, for one I have everything else. 2, the price for DDR3 and the i7 setup MIGHT drop. So after that I will be 100% sure to be joining the team. Congrats on your top 100 breakthrough.

Congrats Team on #93.

Next on deck, Beefysworld.com Forums at 3.9 days, followed closely by guru3d at 4.1 days. I think guru3d is a nice take down, as they have nearly 3x the active folders we have, but no one that is putting up the numbers our top 6 are. Top 90 is getting VERY, VERY close.

I can't believe there is a guy on one of the top teams with quad 9800gx2's. WOW. That is nuts. I saw his numbers and was shocked so I checked up on his site and checked out his posts to find out what he has. They might have a huge team but, one day LR will hunt them down :-P

I am doing all I can, but my system doesn't seem to be running right, and I can't get to it to check it out until January. It may be down for 3/4ths of Dec. since my fiancee is going to be on winter break. I think they are required to unplug everything during breaks.

I had her restart it once, I may have her do it again when she is back from Thanksgiving break.

And we were worried about making it into the top 100 before the end of the year!

Were we?
DaIceMan on October 3, 2008 wrote: Genome's got nothing for us. With the 6 video cards/systems from the kick ass sponsors, we're adding another 27-30k per day. That should help us knock down a few more doors. If you look at the top 100, there are 43 teams that we are gaining on RIGHT NOW. We can realistically pass 9-10 more teams by New Year's at our CURRENT productivity. That's with X down a machine, me down a dual card machine, Darkstar and Dark_Hawk at less than full potential, martini in a rebuild mode not back at full steam, and the 4 core machines not yet up and running. Also, with fall/winter upon us, many of the "fair weather" folders will be back in the mix. We should start to see 200k ppd as an average day, pushing more to the 225-230k ppd range. I think, if we retain the members we have, get everyone back on their feet, add a few more along the way, we can be knocking Top 85, maybe Top 80 by New Year's.
Looks like we are pretty dead on to make my prediction accurate, and that's even with the 384 and 511 pt WU's messing with things.

I think your refering to me saying it'd be tough, but a lot of people really turned it on, and left it there, they didn't do the normal, turn it on for a month or two and then leave. Its nice to see. I like to not be in the top 20 folders, it makes me work harder. Though I am worried come Christmas, if something goes wrong, I'm out of work for a week, so got to make sure nothing goes wonky or work a way out to VNC visually into the system to restart things.

You should try logmein, our works ISP is really anal about letting us (ok, the network admin) open ports on the firewall, but this VPN program worked fine with next to no setup.

Oh, I forgot, we did have to set the website in the exceptions of the internet filtering, but that was all.
