I probably would have upgraded to a faster one, but if its the same type of battery you should have no problem. Congrats on the good deal! might want to check to make sure you dont have one of the exploding batteries...lol

I didnt upgrade anything, I didnt even have a laptop - this one just needed a new hard drive. the guy said his dad didnt know how to replace so he just bought a new one, and asked him if he thought he could get $50 for it. I did check the battery and all looks good. Its in really good shape I know it has 768mb RAM - waitng to get OS installed to check out the rest of the specs...

So do you think that hard drive will work?

I would have replied earlier, but had to go out.

I tried looking up official specs for the laptop, but there was no mention of hard drive interface, and seen as though the only other interface that newegg has in is the sata type, odds are that the ATA interfaced one that you pointed out bought is the type you need.

thats what i figured- the site i linked above let me put in the model# and gave me the listed hard drives as compatible. the only thing that was confusing me was they were showing ATA/100 and newegg listed as ATA-6, I did a little investigating and it seems like those are the same thing?
