good read :)

it sounds like it's quite a little project of a case, i wonder if you can remove the shroud to put a taller HSF on???? or even just rip it off

There are some capable low-ish profile coolers out there that will fit, and with it being open air the will perform better then if they were in a case.

Now as for hacking the shroud.... I think it would look nasty when its done. You would have to cut the a support and most of the shroud. If it could have been made removable then the CPU is far enough in that the fan and shroud would clear.

I regret not getting an angle shot of it like this with the Cooler Master V8 would have shown things a little better, but I think you will get the idea.

The clear plastic piece looks a little cheesy. I wonder why Antec didn't just design the piece from the same material as the rest of the "case"? I'd still like to have one for a project I have in mind, but for the price, I just can't justify it.

I agree, costs too much. It would look pretty cool painted all black.
