The Antec Skeleton is a truly revolutionary enclosure. With a unique design that allows for unprecedented airflow, a front 92mm fan, and a top three speed 250mm fan with multicolor LED customization, the Skeleton goes utterly unmatched in stylish cooling. Is the Antec Skeleton going to be the enthusiast case of the year or will it be needing a redesign? Read on to find out.
There are some capable low-ish profile coolers out there that will fit, and with it being open air the will perform better then if they were in a case.
Now as for hacking the shroud.... I think it would look nasty when its done. You would have to cut the a support and most of the shroud. If it could have been made removable then the CPU is far enough in that the fan and shroud would clear.
I regret not getting an angle shot of it like this with the Cooler Master V8 would have shown things a little better, but I think you will get the idea.

The clear plastic piece looks a little cheesy. I wonder why Antec didn't just design the piece from the same material as the rest of the "case"? I'd still like to have one for a project I have in mind, but for the price, I just can't justify it.
