CoreTemp or Asus Probe for ASUS P6T Deluxe Motherboard

Post by Apoptosis »

Which do you guys think is the better one to use for thermal testing on the ASUS P6T Deluxe Motherboard? The differences between the two are insane.

I'm using ASUS PC Probe II V1.04.55 and Core Temp 0.99.3 to get the temperatures... The ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard is running BIOS 1003.

As you can see the programs are showing roughly a 11.5C difference, which is huge.

Core Temp is supposed to be pretty accurate. I should be building with this board this weekend and I'll see what I come up with.

Have you tried using the latest version of CoreTemp and RealTemp?

If the Tj. Max hasn't officially been released and we're back to playing the guessing game, I personally would use both CoreTemp and PC Probe, then find the average of the two. I know it's not reliable, but it's a start?

It is, 0.99.3 for CoreTemp and 2.70 for RealTemp.

There's a ton of updates to RealTemp for the Core i7, the best thing to do is run the latest beta.

2.88 is what I've been running.
Just got 2.90 RC3 and it has alot more info.............;)

Oh. I keep on thinking that CoreTemp 0.99.4 is out... ](*,)

Anyways, since Intel uses the distance to Tj. Max to find the max temp, I'd just keep that distance above 30C.
