Graphic problem with Gigabyte HD 4670

Post by X_xRiCKx_X »

Hi, I have a Gigabyte Radeon HD 4670 512Mb. GDDR3 an I have problem in 3D Games with special effects.
There is my problem.
I try NFS Underground 2, Far Cry 2, GTA IV and I have the same problem with graphic. But in GTA SA (SA:MP) i doesn"t have this problem, so I think this problem is in games with many graphic effects.
I try to set fan (1%-100%), newest drivers, older drivers, but nothing helps ...
Please, help me :prayer:

(sorry for my english  )

ok..well..i would do one of a few things.since you've already tried the drivers(id still reinstall them just in case)..then i would either try to run ATITool to stress the card to see how far it will go before something weird appears..u should be able to run that for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour with no artifacts..if you do still get them, then the last thing I would do is try another video card..if that different card doesnt mess up graphics wise..then the 4670 might be bad..if the different card DOES do the same crud..then somethin else is amiss..hell..even reseat the video card in the slot just to get that out of the way just in case that might have been it(not often but ive seen it once)...ive had a motherboard give me artifacts and weird thing like that before(i tried 3 video cards) as the pci-e slot was weird..so if 2 video cards do the same thing with you, then that MIGHT(or might not) be a possibility..Hopefully another forum guy might have another if not better suggestion/answer

there ya go...just a friendly FYI.. GTA4 will always have a graphics hitches(which is a bummer..unless Rockstar gets around it somehow) so as long as long as the other games are fine, that should be cool

Hi, looks like I have the same problem as X_xRiCKx_X with my HIS HD 4670 (games: nfs:mw, red alert 3)

X_xRiCKx_X is your card working now? If it is - what was the problem?

(I've already tried the drivers, but i'll try to reinstall them once again)

This is definitely a memory problem. Make sure your modules are being sufficiently cooled. I get the same errors in various games if my case internal temp is too high. Like when my exhaust fans died. Also, you will see this if you have clocked the memory more than it can handle.

Apart from that it may be defective and need replacement.

Edit: Had another look. The capture with the car GTA? may just be a game glitch. But the C&C one seems to be memory related. But I had a similar thing happen to me in Far Cry that was fixed by a driver update iirc. Sooo long ago.

Memory on the card? I`m almost sure that cooling is very good (it's HIS IceQ). Also, I haven't done any overclocking.

Edit: The same problem in Assassins Creed Image
Intresting thing is that The Witcher and Bioshock are running well on high settings 1680x1050 - no problems with them.

It must be driver related then. Hopefully the next release will fix it for you. I've seen how performance increases on one title can literally destroy IQ/performance on another though. Sometimes you will have to hunt for the best driver for your game.

That Assassins Creed screen sure is ugly. I had no problems running it myself. Did you try an older driver to see if it fixes it? Say, the one right after the hot fix for Assassins Creed? I don't remember the version.

Make sure to use driver cleaner between installs of CCC.

Hi, finally the problem with my card is gone. I realised what is wrong about a month ago but I was not sure so I wanted to check it. The problem was with my motherboard. I would realise that earlier but when I went to my friend to check my card I didn't think that he could have the same chipset on motherboard as me... :) Propably all motherboards with chipset VIA PT880Pro have the PCI-Express slot not 16x but only 4x! (It is called "PCI-Express Lite") And that was it. Now I have new motherboard and everything works fine. :) Thank you for your help and suggestions
