Seagate Firmware Update Bricking 500GB HDDs

Post by Apoptosis »

The Seagate Firmware Update that was released yesterday is wreaking havoc on 500GB HDDs according to the Seagate forums. Don't downlaod the SD1A firmware update if you want to still use your 500GB barracuda drive! Be sure to read that thread before doing any updates to the ST3500320AS drive.

Seagate has now posted this about it - http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/s ... cId=207951

I already opened a ticket with them on my 1.5TB drive last Friday. Have not heard back yet.
