Winter break is over, should be folding again soon

Post by vicaphit »

Now that my fiancee is back at school, I should be folding again. She was complaining about slowness, so I should be able to get to it sometime soon to get it producing again.

Um, I am getting a little worried now. I am making over 3000ppd with just a single 8800gt running 24/7. I felt the outside of the case last night and it was pretty warm.

The card is not overclocked, is this normal or am I just getting the right WUs to kick out the points?

vicaphit :) Now is the time to open your rig and give it a good cleaning with rubbing alcohol. When was the last time you changed your thermal paste? Don't forget to wipe your fan blades with alcholol. Get out your compressed air. :) Your temps should be fine and happy after you do that! :supz:

I didn't even see a speck of dust when I opened it. I didn't look too hard though. I just find it wierd that I struggled before December to keep up at 1500-1800 points, and now I am at 3000! Oh well, I will stop complaining and keep rolling out the points.

do you use FAHMon or FAHSpy to monitor your clients? They will give you specifics of what projects you are getting and your real time ppd.

During the Folding War, I had problems with FAHMon and switched to FAHSpy and it has worked great for me ever since.

I am not really monitoring it because I have no real access to the folding machine, I am about 200 miles away from it except for 2 weekends a month. You can pretty much tell with the extreme overclocking stats what size WUs you get.
