TigerDirect.com Drops EVGA Products From Its Retail Site
One of our readers sent me an e-mail letting me know that TigerDirect.com has dropped EVGA products from its retail site today for reasons that are unknown. I just went over to the TigerDirect.com site and searched for EVGA and was shocked to see "You Searched For "xfx"" pop up on the results window. It seems that something happened over at TigerDirect.com as even searching for EVGA doesn't work. We'll fill you in on the full story as soon as we get it. At the time of writing our attempts to contact TigerDirect.com went unanswered.

Hmm. What's most interesting is that XFX is showing up when you type in EVGA. Maybe they're trying to be "friendly" and help direct people in the right direction but by suggesting only one brand/manufacturer seems a bit odd.

yeah, but Palit pulled out of TigerDirect.com and when you search for Palit it comes up: No Results found for "palit."

Yeah, that's what I would have expected.Apoptosis wrote:yeah, but Palit pulled out of TigerDirect.com and when you search for Palit it comes up: No Results found for "palit."

Please keep us informed on the issue. Maybe they are just doing some sort of rotation of new inventory. Sending back old stuff to make way for the new. At least that's what I am hoping for.

On a similar note, anyone know why both tigerdirect and the egg stopped carrying the xfx gtx 295? Seems to be available at other sites.
Re: TigerDirect.com Drops EVGA Products From Its Retail Site
What are the odds this is merely a mistake? Or a practical joke by some pissed off inventory manager or something?
It would be a shock if evga has some how gotten on TD's dark side

Wow. Someone must have really done something if TigerDirect specifically programmed their search engine to return "xfx" for "evga". I want to hear the story on this one.
Probably just a stock issue and they didn't receive a date on when they could expect more in.XstollieX wrote:On a similar note, anyone know why both tigerdirect and the egg stopped carrying the xfx gtx 295? Seems to be available at other sites.

I actually spoke with one of my contacts over at EVGA and they said it was a business decision that was made.
In a nut shell it seems that EVGA is no longer working with Tiger Direct. Palit Multimedia also pulled their products from Tiger Direct back in 2008.... Hum... Now the question turns to the status of TigerDirect.com as that is now two video card makers that have walked away from Tiger Direct.

I was just over at the tiger retail store. They still have evga on the shelves. Figure they are just gonna sell off what they have and thats it
It says it's a deactivated product at the egg. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150333)Kougar wrote:Probably just a stock issue and they didn't receive a date on when they could expect more in.

No loss here. If I can't find what I want at the Egg I head to ZZF. I don't think I've ever bought anything at TigerDirect.

The Egg and TD are usually where I shop. I've probably made most of my orders from those two sites. Interesting to hear why that relationship was broken between TD and EVGA.

No one from tiger direct has contacted me since I tried contacting them, but I would have to say this might be a coming trend. With the way the economy is shrinking corporations that make a product will have to keep an eye on who sells their products to see if it fits in the business model when sales take a dip.In the end I just report news and reviews and am un-biased on the whole situation.gwolfman wrote:I wonder if anyone else will pull out now.

With the level of customer service I've received from egg over the years I can't imagine dealing with anyone but them. TD might have changed their policies with regards to the manufacturers that no longer benefits EVGA.
Re: TigerDirect.com Drops EVGA Products From Its Retail Site
no tax for me from TD since I'm here in CA. that's a big plus.cardnyl wrote:With the level of customer service I've received from egg over the years I can't imagine dealing with anyone but them. TD might have changed their policies with regards to the manufacturers that no longer benefits EVGA.

EVGA products' been pulled off TigerDirect.ca as well. Not really a loss for me since I usually shop at NCIX.com anyway.

Re: TigerDirect.com Drops EVGA Products From Its Retail Site
I order most of my stuff from the Egg since the prices are usually a little bit better. I am still curious about the reasons for EVGA and TD going their seperate ways.
