how sick is that  it's pretty laggy, CPU is bouncing around from no less than 15% to 50%(one full core), RAM is at ~1080,000kB and holding, with spikes randomly

(many, many, many, many, many, many tabs are open)

and firefox couldnt just close, it had to force quit, and it took a while just to do that

that's not a memory leak. A Memory Leak is when you just have one tab open and its using that much. If you do the math its using 1.8MB a tab. That's great memory usage

Lol. Did you open empty tabs or were they web pages? I usually open 2 to 3 tabs and it uses at least 50MB of RAM.

they *almost* all had the LR homepage up, and i just assumed that the ability to use over a GB of RAM from one program was a leak, but okay

No, a leak is when your program keeps eating up ram and doesn't stop because of a program error (usually coding error).

Either way, I get bored sometimes and do it.

Wow. 535 tabs and just 1GB RAM? I usually have only 50 or so tabs open and when Firefox is left overnight, it can easily gobble up 600+MB.

I have peoplepc for my dial-up provider. It seems the auto-dialer I have to use to connect is not compatible with vista x64, so I have to end program in the task manager or it will eat up all available ram. I let it sit for a while one time, and it eventually got past 2GB of ram usage.

That is definitely a memory leak.

Five windows witg roughly 10 tabs each. One window per forum and a window for newegg. Tabs usually for topics i mean to read or reply to, on newegg either a search for parts or reviews and specifications for specific products. Then i have windows for fanfic sites, too. Yep, terribly easy to fill 50 tabs.

Those were my first thoughts as well for 500+. Once that link is clicked, it's pop-tart city with the tabs. :nut kick:
