I was talking via e-mail to Steve Phallen about getting some gaming servers running right here in St. Louis for Legit Reviews and was informed that they were going to be closing their St. Louis operations this month. To give you a little background information Art of War Central bought out VSK Game Servers back in 2004 as part of their strategy for launching game servers around the world (VSK Game Servers were STL based). It looks like St. Louis got knocked out due to low demand for servers in the center of the country as Dallas and Chicago have higher demand and St. Louis was right in the middle.
Sad to see many St. Louis based companies like VSK Game Servers and GameRail closing down with much to do of it being the location. AGEIA PhysX was born right here in St. Louis and it lives on though, so not everything started in St. Louis fails.
We’re probably going to be shutting down St. Louis at the end of this month. We just don’t have a large enough demand for it as compared to Chicago.
