SourceAll currencies are equivalent for pricing purposes. So a $9.99 game costs €9.99 and £9.99. Quick check of the exchange rates shows that is, in US Dollars, $9.99, and $13.85 and $14.83, respectively.
Put another way, Call of Duty 4, a $49.99 title, would be equivalent to $69.35 and, working backward, amounts to about a €14 difference, or an extra 25 percent that Valve (and the publisher) make on the exchange.

Dollar No Longer Weak Vs. Euro (on Steam)
Last month Steam switched over its pricing to make dollars, euros and pounds equivalent. As you might imagine, this hoses UK/EU customers, and they're not too happy about it.

Europeans will just transfer funds to their American friends to buy the game then gift it to them, duh
(Yeah, pretty crappy move by steam though...)

Re: Dollar No Longer Weak Vs. Euro (on Steam)
We're used to getting screwed over when it comes to UK vs US prices. So I think a lot of people will bend over and take it.
Having said that, I just checked out the comparative prices (on a few random games), and they actually work out cheaper over here than what you are paying
(Though there are some that are more than you still, so it looks like a mixed bag).

Considering the games are already highly discounted (even for old games) I think we are all getting a good deal. At least Dan doesn't have to pay the international transfer fee for every steam purchase.

You have to pay a fee on top of the games?
(Or are you just referring to if I wanted to buy them from a US friend all the time?)

Re: Dollar No Longer Weak Vs. Euro (on Steam)
Last game I bought on steam came with a $.40 charge for an international fee of some sort.
