P6T Deluxe, very slow install.

Post by BrianM »

Hi all.

First the stuff:

P6T Deluxe bios 1102, I7-920 , 3x2GB Mushkin 1600 Mhz (998659) Cosair 720W PSU Evga 8800GT Gfx. Pioneer dvd/rw , 2 HP sas 15K

Well got the new stuf the other day (cpu, mb, ram, sas hd) And i made my new rig, i actually read i the manual about ram, have heard some rumors :-)
The mashine started up, and i set it in the bios, ide and go sas.

Now the bad part, inserted the Vista 64 bit enterprice sp1 dvd, and press any key, it sttarted to load, very fast, and then it just....... nice screen and 1 arrow, i could move the arrow, 10-12 mins later :goodman: , it asked me for country, i specified, and bingo, nice sreen again........10 min later it was ready to install. :partyman:

This is happening every time i want to install???? I have tryed win7 win vistasp2 beta ultimate, but nothing, everything in the start is so slow that i could scream...
When iam installed, everything is fine, read spead on sas aprox 220 MB/s and my raid drives is also okay.

I have tryed to remove 1 ram block, course i could see mine isnt certified for 3 sticks only 2, but it was the same..

Can it be because windows dosent rec sas and intel10 that it is so slow??

There were nothing wrong with dvd or drive before this hardware change.

Thx for any help.

PS: No animals were harmed during the operations.....

PPS: I can inform you, whomever is interested, that iam at this moment using acronis newest home edition, for backing up system, it works on the sas drive, if you want to try and maybe by, use the .com not the .EU its the same price, just in dollars and euro.... And no, i dont work there :-) But yes i work in an computer compagny, due to all the legal copys i have of windows :)

Have you used a bootable CD like Ultimate Boot CD to test your RAM and hard drive? Maybe even run a few cycles of a cpu stress test. If it were me, I'd run the tests and see if I didn't have any bad hardware on my hands.
