SMP only stressing 1 core in Ubuntu

Title says it all, aside from it being a dual-core CPU.

Scratching my head and not sure what to do.

how many cores do Ubuntu see?

It sees 2, one running at %100.00 and the other one at like 1 or 2

Is this in a VM or native install? What are you running from the CMD for a command? What core is running?

Native install, I really can't remember but I followed all the step-by-step instructions on that walk-through, CPU1 is fully stressed, and CPU2 is only slightly stressed with firefox open

wow, i'm a loser. i forgot to add the -smp flag.

now how do i create a shortcut to FAH on the desktop including the -smp flag?

you could make a text file on your desktop with this in it

cd [FOLDING DIRECTORY HERE] &
./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9 -forceasm  &

then just run it in a terminal
