My i7 Adventure

Post by pwcmed »

So I saw a shell shocker the other day and thought, wow what a great deal. I really didn't think it through and bought it. I am now regretting it because I don't need it. My E8400 at 3.8Ghz with my 4870 1 Gig is performing just fine. I can't get my 4870's to crossfire in my Biostar i45 so maybe it will work in the new board. E-wiz the an i7 for $260, maybe I should just do it.

Anyways this is what i picked up.

ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution

G.SKILL 6GB DDR3 1600

I say go for it..you got 66.5% of what's needed to go i7 anyway :P lol..should support crossfire just fine with that mobo too considering it has an x58 chipset..and it says it on the box(picture showed it anyway) :)

Yeah, my urge to go i7 hasn't been that great because of how well my current E8400 performs.

Congrats on the upgrade though. Hope you're ready to unleash the furnace that is i7 :P

I have spare Xigmatek S1283. This adapter should work on it.

I saw post about a new stepping that is coming out. I am going to wait a month and test my luck.

rocking 3.8 on my E84 as well... so I can't justify the jump right now to i7 (no matter how hard I try convince myself).
