IDE/SATA to USB converter question.

Post by vicaphit »

Would this work with an optical drive?

I have a need for a USB optical drive now, and I really don't want to pay $50 to get a USB drive. This thing is only $20.99, and I have an extra optical drive in my computer that I could use as an external. I just need to know if it will work with DVD drives as opposed to HDDs.

You'd have to power the drive somehow. Datawise it would work, but you'd need to power from the PSU or whatever.

That's no problem. I guess I will get it!
Edit: Got this instead. It looks more user friendly.
