GeForce GTX 275 Now Available in North America

Post by Apoptosis »

Last week we told you to expect availability of GeForce GTX 275 on or before April 14, 2009, so this is a quick note to let you know that availability in North America has now started.

The first card to show up is the EVGA GeForce GTX 275 at both Newegg and MWave. NVIDIA told us that they expect many other vendor products to be coming online at Newegg and other e-tailers shortly over the next few days.

Here are the links for the ones available today.

Thinking of doing the my step-up program (BFG) from my current SLi'd 260/216/65nm to the 275 (cost about $60 for both cards) ; however after reading LR's current review http://www.legitreviews.com/article/944/1/ and the hotter temps http://www.legitreviews.com/article/944/13/ LR tested out Iam not sure if its the greatest idea . My current 260 SLi setup never really gets close to the reported 275 temps (84c) at load .

Anyone running a pair of GTX 275's in SLi and care to comment on temps .

(*BTW, great review once again LR ...thx ! :D )

put it this way, my gtx285s in sli get up to 85C sometimes. The top card usually gets up to 89C since its airflow is a bit iffy with the bottom gpu...not much difference to the 275 other than the amount of ram(and that it's 448-bit) that I saw.

Thx for the info InspectahACE .

Well I went for it , as I think today was my last available day to step-up.

I also noticed during LR's review the 275 card was only at 40% fan , and I usually run my cards around 60-65% ; so that should help .

No Problem. BTW, the video cards were idling in those screen shots. That's why they were at 40%

I just bought me a 275 also. I needed something to replace the 8800 GTX that I slapped in my system about 16 months ago. I'm simply amazed at how video cards have advanced in the last year. Now, to find a water block to fit this baby and finally do my water cooling.

What are you guys thinking of your cards? Seems like a pretty good value...someone at work is trying to decide between the ATI and NVIDIA. I recommended the NVIDIA but I still think the ATI's are nice cards too.

Iam still awaiting for stock to come in @ BFG for my step-up on the 275's so I cant comment on them as of yet .. :( , but as far as Nvidia and my 260's/216/65nm ; Ive been "very very" happy with them . Good oc'ers , run cool , quite and solid gaming and value for price I paid in Dec . Iam ALMOST starting to think of NOT letting them go for the trade-up :p . Iam not a fan boy of either camp , but for now Nvidia has my vote , specialy if the 275's do as well as expected for basicly a low cost version of a GTX 280/285.

Keep ya updated on my thoughts when my cards "do" arrive ... :partyman:

But Ive got to say , this deal posted here @ FW, http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-dea ... 1/?start=0 for a HD4890 would have also been pretty darn tempting to anyone also :-k

After a day, I can conclude that it is a very nice card. It runs at about 85C at full load and managed to play Crysis Warhead on enthusiast settings (no AA, 1680x1050). My last card was an ATI, and I think I'm going to be buying more nVidia products in the future.

If anybody wants specific details, let me know. I've yet to really use it aside from yesterday, and I'll see how it goes.

I like mine so far also. So far my card has only topped out at 52*C playing WoW or CS:S at max settings @ 1680x1050. Currently idling, it's running at a steady 42*C and my PC has been on for 15-20 minutes. I bought the eVGA GTX 275 SC. I got CoD:WAW with it for free, but haven't installed it yet. I should probably max that baby out so I can see how hot she can really get!
