ATI Catalyst Control Center

Post by Sodapop »

I am using the motherboard ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics. I installed the drivers and ran the basic setup to activate the HDMI for my 32inch HD TV. Everything works. The problem is everytime I start the machine I have to run the setup again, then reboot to get the HDMI signal working on the TV. For some reason I can't get the settings to stick. I looked over the control center but found nothing to check or uncheck to stop the problem. I have been fighting this for several months. Someone refered me to your forum and here I am. Any Ideas? I looked over the post but didn't see anything related to my problem. Hope I didn't miss a answer. Thank you.

welcome to the forums. based on my limited knowlage of HDMI my guess would be that its not ATI Catalyst Control Center. My guess would be that your TV is not detecting a single for some reason. So just to test. try your reboot so you can see it working on your TV. keep your PC on. turn off your TV and unplug the HDMI. Turn on your TV and plug in the "working" HDMI cable to the TV. Is it still getting a picture?

I've had that problem with one of my hdmi cables too, I had to take it out and plug it in again evertime I want to start the display on my TV to get my desktop to show up on it. I just got a net cable and everything is working right away.

If it's the TV that's not receiving the signal then why do I have to reset the CCC settings? It's like they go back to the default when I turn off the power. Also if I just do a restart, I don't lose the settings.

if you haven't already, re-install the CCC then to see if that fixes it..I almost went for a hardware related thought but if you're not losing the setting on a reboot but you do when powering down/up, I would imagine it being driver related. I would still try a new HDMI cable to rule it out too

I have reinstalled the CCC a couple times with no change. Will someone explain to me how a faulty HDMI cable can change the setting in the CCC? If the cable is faulty why does it work?
