Power supply wattage?
Yeah so I got a corsair HX1000W power supply. But the components i use in my system probably only take up like 650 watts.I got the 1000 watt power supply for future upgrades like sli. So does the extra 350 watts still end up being used for no reason and show up on my electric bill?

Re: Power supply wattage?
I don't think so. I belive the 1000w number is what it's capable of supporting but I could be wrong. I know the 750w in my signature is currently drawing 160w @ 120v according to my APC battery backup display.

Re: Power supply wattage?
isn't that what the 80% efficient thing means?
If you use 350watts you are using like 450 max from the wall.
