My rig is my laptop... :cry:

Toshiba X205-S9349
* Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.80GHz/ 800MHz Front Side Bus/ 2MB L2 cache)
* Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
* 2GB DDR2-667 dual-channel RAM
* 1GB Intel Turbo Memory module
* 17.0” WXGA+ (1440x900) display with TruBrite technology
* Nvidia GeForce 8700M-GT graphics card with 256MB dedicated memory (511MB total with TurboCache shared memory)
* 240GB hard drive space (120GB 5400RPM x2)
* HD DVD-ROM/DVD Super Multi (+/- double layer)
* Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965 AGN (802.11a/g/n)
* Bluetooth 2.0+EDR
* Built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam and microphone
* Fingerprint reader

Over 2 years old, just ran out of warranty actually. It's sitting on a ZM-NC2000 notebook cooler.
Served me very well and took a lot of beating as you can see from my pics (sorry for the grainy quality, took them from my cellphone as my camera recently died on me). But time to put the old boy down, thinking about getting a desktop at the end of this semester as soon as I can afford one.

Unfortunately, my rig hasn't changed since college started :oops: (Good reason to win the ibuypower :mrgreen: )
Used my financial aid check to buy a sportbike (Yamaha R6) instead of build another rig O:)
Only thing that changed is I don't have all my cables tied down to my desk now that I moved out of the dorms :rolleyes:
The Flying Pig wrote:Haha I guess this will be my intro to the LR forums :]

This is my dorm room setup. Specs are in the sig.

I have an affinity with cable ties.
Notice the ghetto fan mod to the back of the case, stuck in place with cable ties.
You'll soon see why I had to move the rear case fan.. outside the case. #-o
Image

I forgot to wipe the brushed aluminum side panel down before taking the pix a while ago :/
But I chose this case just so it would be quieter in case I have roommates that can't sleep with fan noise (and I just happened to get one who can't sleep with any noise).
(The case is prefit with foam on the two side panels to dampen the noise, rubber on the edges of the panels to seal noise in it.)
And the fact that it doesn't have a side panel makes it less attractive since people walking into the room won't know what's inside of it right away. (my old case lit my room with a blue glow :) )
Image

What's under the hood, so to speak.
The Scythe Orochi heatsink.. is MASSIVE.
Image

With the air duct removed, you can see the 4870x2 and the X-Fi card :]
Image

You can't really see it here, but the Orochi barely clears the DHX coolers on the ram. The ram in the slot closest to the CPU has less than 0.25" space between it and the copper heatpipe from the cooler.
Image

I just made a custom fan mod to the case two days ago by hanging a 12cm fan from the top blowing air into the heatpipes of the Orochi.
I've been in an overclocking mood, but it seems like the Orochi doesn't pull enough heat off of my QX6850 processor, so having a fan blow air directly into my heatpipes has lowered my temps by 7-9 degrees idle. :]
I left my camera at home, so a cell phone pix will have to do it some justice.
Image

Enjoy! Comments are welcome :]

Nothing fancy here, this is what I bought when I was in finishing college. I'm still using it. I remember, I paid 400 for it including 19" widescreen monitor, and added maybe 60 dollars total to upgrade ram and graphics card.

Image

Inspiron 531S
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
4 gb OCZ middle-tier ram
NVIDIA 8500GT (low-form factor graphics card)
160 gb hard drive
Windows 7 64-bit professional (as of last week)

Hey, I get 60 fps on medium-high settings in WoW. That's not bad :drinkers:

Here's my <cough> phat rig. Apologies for the low quality pic but the only camera I have handy is in my phone:

Pentium Dual Core E2200, currently mildly overclocked from 2.2 GHz to 2.53 GHz. It goes higher but not with the kind of stability that I prefer.
MSI-7236 motherboard w/i945 chipset
3 GB OCZ DDR2 RAM
BFG Geforce 9800 GT video card w/512 MB RAM
Antec Sonata case (going on six years old!)
BFG 550W power supply
Seagate 320GB HD
Hauppage WinTV-HVR 1600 HD/SD TV Tuner
Generic multiformat DVD recorder
Running the Windows 7 RC.

There's also an original Soundblaster Audigy and 3.5" floppy drive in the system, but neither are enabled.
