How many extra volts?

Post by Sovereign »

Stock cooling with AS5. AMD64 3400+ 939. Stock volts are 1.5. How many extra volts? 2.4GHz restarts on 1.55v...will 1.6 be OK?

1.6 is ok, i would not push more than that on stock. And to be safe i would keep it under 1.7v.

Go up in smaller intervals if possible, and leave it at the lowest voltage that lets you be 100% Prime stable.

Keep an eye on the temperatures as well, I like to keep them under 50 C max.

Sounds like NewCastle right?
For stock cooling 1.725V is about the max I'll go. Just make sure the temperatures are under 55C once over 1.65V

...then again mobo tell lies about temperature so uh

I'd probably stick around 1.55, since if you run your proc really hot, the performance degrades... you might not be able to OC as well after a while.
