Dell XPS Studio 9000| Cooling Fan.

Post by buhney »

Hi guys, I'm new here. :)

Does anyone here own an XPS Studio 9k? Because I want to know what's a good cooling fan for the CPU(Core i7-920 @ 2.66Ghz) and GPU(ATI HD 5870).. I was looking at the Cooler Master V8 and V10, and I was wondering if they would fit. Will they fit? If not, is there a better/good fan (except for the stock fan which came with the cpu) that could cool the cpu down? And...

Are there any cooling fans for ATI HD 5870? Can someone suggest a good one, if there is any?

Hmm.. Also, is Liquid-cooling system necessary for this type of computer? No overclocking or anything, just the way it is.

Are you sure the Cooler Master V8 or V10 will fit my pc? Because they look huge; especially, the V10. Will the RAM be in the way if I used either one (V8 or V10) ? Are these cpu cooling fan quiet?

Oh, I think I'll get that GPU cooler you're suggesting. Is it quiet, though?

If the images I found on line are your case then NO the V10 nor V8 will not fit in your case. CPU socket is to close to the PSU, and the support cross rail is in the way too. For a "full tower" there is squat for room in that thing.

Can you post a picture looking at your system from the side with the panel off? If we can see your exact case it will be easier to point you at one.

For now, with what I have found googling, you need something with a small foot print and short like the Asus Triton or even the Corsair H50.

Well, the computer's dimension is about: Height: 19.4" (49.3 cm), Width: 7.8" (19.8 cm), Depth: 20.7" (52.8cm). So, I thought the V8 or V10 would fit (V8's dimension 120 x 128 x 161.1 mm and V10's dimension 236.5 x 129.6 x 161.3 mm) , but then I just wanna make sure.

I'm not sure if this is good enough.

I think you're right, V8 won't fit, but how about v10? If neither fan will fit in my system, then are there any fan that would fit in my case and could lower the heat better than the stock fan?
