the card is a 512 with shared memory i think you can overclock it to a gig but causes graphical errors.

yes, you can totally overclock to gain memory, reminds me of "download more RAM!"

Imaginary ram doesn't store information very well, that is why you get graphical errors.

this person confused me more than anything:

Cons: It takes up two bay slots in a standard Atx Housings. However be careful measuring hence it is long enough to interfere with some cpu's on select motherboards. I had to customize mine by pulling off the dodgy advertising shield that is just clipped over top of the cooler. It served no purpose in heat removal anyway.

Other Thoughts: If you are an overclocker use a different program than the catalyst provided. It's not very good. Probably only average a 5% to 7% increase using catalyst. Check tomshardware.com for the best overclocking tools.

my favorite part is he advertised for a website, after complaining about manufacturer advertisements, but then again, its Tom's we're talking about

Hilarious. #1 Quote Reminder: "Hah! Memory IS RAM" - Moss, IT Crowd. Also reminds me for some strange reason about posting food through eMail... Since when have CPUs been to the left of PCI slots? Also, current Catalyst overclocking has fully user-modifyable clocks. Sure, the 'advertising shield' might not serve any purpose in 'heat-removal' but removing it will definitely void your warranty and i have a sinking feeling that he might have mistaken it for a heatsink...
