People always say that building your own water cooling loop is the way to go, but are they right? We got talking with the CEO from CoolIT and he showed us his latest water cooling technology called the Eco versus a traditional water cooling loop that he built using off the shelf parts. The results were a little shocking to be honest.

Re: CoolIT Eco Versus Traditional Water Cooling Loop
How the hell did they price that DIY kit at $229? For that much you can get the Swifetch Apex Ultima Extreme Duty(!) from Newegg, which will blow their DIY (and Eco) setup out of the water ;)
Granted it looks like they've undercut the price every other decent pre-built/DIY WC kit out there, but there's good reason the other kits aren't that cheap; they don't break and leak all over your computer, like so many other CoolIT products seem to do

Agreed, I probably will never touch one of their products.DMB2000uk wrote:they don't break and leak all over your computer, like so many other CoolIT products seem to do

That and its not the top shelf water block from Swiftech, but the XT is the same price as the whole Eco system
I have no issue with kits, never have, they have their places. Those who go the DIY route are also wanting to do video cards and chipsets as well. I get email all the time from people asking how to splice into the loops to add stuff. When the kits can be spliced into, or added, we can then see where the cost comes in.
As for the tubing size... its always better to have a bigger tube
