AvP Demo Released - Any Feedback?
I downloaded the 1.3GB demo yesterday and tried it out for about 30 minutes last night...
looks decent... hate how when you are a marine that you have to hold down the e button in order to pick up weapons though. That doesn't seem fair...

Re: AvP Demo Released - Any Feedback?
Gotta hold that damn button down as a Pred as well. Someone usually kills me when I'm attempting to pick something up.
I'm still trying to get used to the controls and I am hoping that the multiplayer interface improves a bit making it easier to get into games.
What I need is a AvP training demo before I get p0wned in multiplayer.

I didn't like it at first, but after getting used to it, I had a lot of fun.
As the alien, just run around with your sprint key, and use the jump button for getting around quickly. Use the ceilings to sneak up on the enemy and jump down on them when they are turned away. You can grab them from shorter ceilings too.
As the predator, use the sprint button and the spacebar to jump to higher areas and use your weapons from a spot where you won't be shot at.
Haven't played the marine, I have had too much fun with the other two.
I wish the demo had a bit of the single player campaign so I could find out what that is like.

Ok, I completely do not get this game. I have no idea how to change weapons for the predator after you pick them up. For the alien, is there a way not to stick to everything you walk up to or on?
The biggest thing is what do you do to actually fight? I understand you are suppose to hold shift while fighting or something like that..](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

Re: AvP Demo Released - Any Feedback?
I've played with this a bit. I prefer playing as the marine since I can shoot the others down very easily. It's a pretty lazy class, where I just sit around and shoot, maybe moving a little. The feeling that anything could creep up is pretty cool. Overall, this was a terrible experience. The online system is terrible. Where is the server browser? Why can't I see my ping? If I buy the game, it'll be when it's on sale and it'll be mostly for single player.

Re: AvP Demo Released - Any Feedback?
I know they neutered the demo down for people to get a taste. They have said that many of the issues that people are complaining about (dedicated servers, multiplayer waiting rooms, etc) are addressed in the full version of the game. I'm thinking they should have released a single-player level before unleashing the multiplayer version on everyone. Then again, it looks to be a port from the console version and maybe they just wanted to keep everything as simple (for them) as possible.
I agree with many above...not the best first experience and it's making me reconsider going out and getting a DX11 card....

I'd like to play the single player and see how that works.
