When my pair of Samsung SyncMaster 204B 20" LCD monitors go to stand by or 'sleep' mode one of them takes between 2-5 minutes to come back on and then very slowly goes to full brightness. I bought this pair of monitors in 2006 for $399 each... Looking back at it now it is hard to believe that it cost me $800 for a dual monitor setup with a 20.1" TFT LCD displays that could do 1600 x 1200. Heck, today you can get a Samsung 2333HD 23" Widescreen Full HD LCD Monitors (1920x1080) for $204 shipped, so you got to love how prices fall.
Anyway, I was curious if anyone had this sort of issue before and how long the monitor lasted in a state like this. I guess I am going to look for some new monitors. Maybe this is a sign to go to a triple monitor setup for 3D Vision or Eyefinity.
