LR Reporting As Malicious...WTF?

Post by Major_A »

I was browsing an article and got this popup.
http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/ ... le/1057/8/

Is Google acting up again and declaring all websites are bad?

I commented on this here - http://forums.legitreviews.com/about26616.html

We are working to resolve any issues that might be creating any malware issues. This is a very serious issue and according to google it's something with our ad server. I've deleted our old install and installed a clean install of the latest version of the ad server and disabled Google ads. I've contacted Google and asked them to re-scan the site in order to get a clean bill of health and to get off the blacklist. A PITA indeed. I hope that it gets resolved by Monday.

Seems to be OK now. I just searched "legitreviews.com" on google, followed the link and got no warnings.

It always allowed access to the main page... it was the news/article url's that it was blocking. Do those work for you now?

Weird, I was able to read the thermaltake case review this morning now when I try to open another article I get the warning. Hopefully this will be fully resolved by tomorrow.

hard not to be when all your search engine traffic is blocked and those that directly make it to the site can't click around without getting warnings...

March 2010 was going to be a record breaking month, but now with nearly 72 hours of issues it looks like it won't be!

The malware SQL injection in our OpenX ad server happened the evening of 3/20/2010 and was resolved in the morning of 3/21/2010. Legit Reviews isn't going anyplace!!

I apologize again for the exploit, but it was a bug in the OpenX ad server software and there wasn't anything we could do for it! We enabled some custom work arounds that should help secure the installation a little better.

It would have taken most places a week before they realized something was wrong, a week before they fixed it and two years before they admitted it happened. This was a top-notch response to the problem. There is nothing to apologize for as far as I'm concerned. :drinkers:
