Unigine Corporation today announced the second version of its DirectX 11 benchmark Heaven that is based on its proprietary Unigine engine. The company has already made a name among the overclockers and gaming enthusiasts for uncovering the realm of true GPU capabilities with previously released Sanctuary and Tropics demos. Their benchmarking capabilities are coupled with striking visual integrity of the refined graphic art.
Changes:
• More tessellation load.
• Optimized engine.
• Added several new art assets.
• Introduced "extreme" tessellation mode.
"Our company has been pushing the limits of advanced 3D real-time technologies with Unigine engine for almost 5 years. We focus on consistent delivering of all the innovation power to game developers and end users by taking advantage of modern GPUs capabilities. So we couldn't have missed the next major stage of DirectX evolution with its inspiring features. We are happy to be the first benchmark provider for this amazing technology. I hope that our strategic relationship with Microsoft will continue", commented Denis Shergin, CEO of Unigine Corp.

Unigine Heaven Benchmark 2.0 For DX11 GPUs Released
The folks at NGOHQ let us know they have the Unigine Heaven Benchmark 2.0 available for download. The package weighs in at 230MB so grab it here. Wait a little bit though as I'm downloading it and its only downloading at 44KB/s!

I wonder if that's a new "Extreme - Trying to cripple Fermi" mode.

Yup...hark wrote:Extreme trying to cripple HD 5XXX series mode?
GF100 is better at really heavy tessellation
Re: Unigine Heaven Benchmark 2.0 For DX11 GPUs Released
Well it should be interesting to see the gap in power. I'm looking forward to seeing benchmarks.

Yay! First Benchmark to make it here.
Intel Core i5 540M 2.53GHz
4GB DDR3-1066
Mobility Radeon 5650 1GB
Not sure why I could not enable the Tessellation though.

Wow! Talk about bringing a 5870 to it's knees! That said I didn't close any programs or optimize for a bench. I'm sure that Fermi will beat the 5870 hands down in heavy tesselation but, to be honest, how many general population games are going to use tesselation to that level? I'm still very happy with my 5870 purchase If someone threw me $500.00 I'd probably buy an SSD.

Try my settings that I used in the GTX480 review - http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1258/9/DaddyRabbit wrote:Wow! Talk about bringing a 5870 to it's knees! Fermi brought the mighty 5970 down!
