2.6Ghz dual core and ATI 4870? I'd say he's doing alright.

Dan

His video card is fine. But I believe he may still be using a Socket 939 with the AMD x2 4200+, unless he is running the updated AM2 version. Still a cpu/memory/hd upgrade should do him well. But it all boils down to finances as a main concern, and does he actually need anything more demanding, etc..

Yes, that's a smurf's pillow case and pillow I sit on because the chair I use is a foldable one (butt pillows are amazing though) and sorry for the photo quality, I don't have a real digital camera so I used my phone.
Specs:
-Antec P182 case
-Corsair 750TX PSU
-Corsair 4GB 800MHz DDR2 ram
-Intel Core 2 quad q9550 @ ~3Ghz
-Sapphire ATI Radeon 4870 (512MB)
-Gigabyte UD3P mobo
-Western Digital FALS1001 1TB, 7200 RPM hd
-Western Digital 6401AALS 640GB, 7200RPM hd (these two hard drives used to be in RAID, but the one failed so they gave me an "upgrade" on the RMA, which failed for me because I don't like wasting space if I raided these)
-LG h22n dvd/cd drive
-Generic floppy disk
