5970 fan speed
Hi am trying to figure a good way set the algorithm for the fan without having it run at 90% all the time.

Re: 5970 fan speed
yes the fan is loud even at lower percentage settings but it is rated for 400 watt cooling system on the stock cooler so I guess I cant blame them. Am able to overvolt the card slightly on the core to 1.1 and bump the core to 880mhz and memory at stock voltage to 1200mhz so am surpassing 5870 corssfire speeds but I just don't like the fact of opening ATi control panel and setting the fan speed manually just to game

Re: 5970 fan speed
Have you tried looking into the manual fan profile 'hack' that was discovered when the 4850 fan was running too slow and the cards idled at around 80-90oC?
It involved creating a new profile in CCC, then finding the .xml file where all the configurations were saved and editing a couple of lines to do with fan speeds.
Try googling for "manual 4850 fan control" or similar for more detailed instructions.

I use MSI AfterBurner to overclock and control the fan. You can precisely set the fan rpm based on the temperature of the card. You can also set 2D and 3D profile modes for desktop use and gaming. I highly recommend it!
