Has anyone replaced a mac screen before?
I have a client with a mac screen that is going bad. Just wondering if it is similar to replacing a laptop screen.

Haven't tried to on my iMac yet, but I know for a fact that if you need to send it in, they're going to gouge you on the price VERY badly.

I replace the wires that run along side of the screen in an iBook g3 several years ago. Wasn't alot of fun but it's doable. What type of mac are you talking about?

It is gonna be tricky I'm sure. You will most likely have to remove all of the other components from the system. A quick google search showed several guides are out there if you want to undertake it. I don't know how technically inclined you are, you are taking a risk anytime you open your computer up. Mac parts are pricey but taking it in for service will cost quite a bit more. If you are gonna do it, take your time, taking pictures of how it is coming apart isn't a bad idea. Pictures is something I didn't take enough of when i took the top end of my trucks engine apart and I regretted it. Let us know how it goes
