Power has been down for about 10 minutes now, stupid storms.

Yeah, modem and router both plugged in. Of course I could have cheated and used my phone, or even my 3G card and a netbook or laptop. Oh well, good time

I'll have to look for the exact model, but it's a Belkin 1500VA rated thing with built-in AVR. The one annoying feature about it is the beep when the power goes down, especially in the middle of the night.

I've had it about 3 years or so and it hasn't failed me yet. I couldn't tell you what kind of up-time it gets without power though because I usually shut everything down about 10-15 minutes into the outage.

I think the APC brand is the "A" answer. That's the brand I usually recommend to friends/family/clients. I went with the Belkin because I got a good deal on it and it had decent ratings at the time. Was one of those bang-for-the-buck moments.

With more and more electronics in the living room what do you guys use?

My APC lasted 6 years before the battery finally just refused to charge. Sad thing is it lasted so long they don't make the batteries for it anymore!!! LOL

So, time to get a new one. Thanks for the reminder.

I have one like this too. It is absolutely gigantic but only 3 of the 8 outlets work because the rest rely on the battery.
On the bright side, now I have a 6 ft extension cord that that weighs about 10 lbs, collects dust like a champ, and has the nicest on/off switch I have ever seen.
