problems with Hotmail

Post by killswitch83 »

didn't really think this would fit into the general forum, so decided to ask here (admins, move if you feel it fits, by all means); anyways, is anyone else here with a Hotmail account having problems as of last night around midnight, because I can't access my account, and everything looks good on the network side of things (NIC is functioning properly, connection is good, physical medium and devices are fine, software is fine, etc); I even went as far as to refresh the DNS server and renew my IP, no luck. Any help would, as always, be greatly appreciated!! :)

yeah, they restricted outlook access because outlook is the main entrance for viruses. thats why I never used outlook. I have a hotmail account since 1997 and love it. yes its true that rarely they have a problem slowdowns and such but generally i find it pretty reliable. and great spam-wise and no virus ever got through since I use it.

I use Outlook 2003, but I never ever ever open attachments unless a friend I know and trust tells me he/she is sending an attachment. Then I AVG it. Then I open it. I also have SpywareBlaster, Ad-Aware and Spybot. So I'm safe, I think...
Use the most powerful antispyware/antivirus app you have! Your intelligence!

oh, I never use Outlook, it's a POS, lol (not cursing, not cursing!!!!); I use Hotmail's app to look through my mail, since it has anti-virus built-in, but even then I use AVG to scan incoming email (btw, liking AVG, very simple to use, not a resource hog cuz I'm using it on a K6-2 500mhz dinosaur with no problem, and it's extremely effective as it found a Trojan that my updated Norton didn't find, so I got rid of Norton, lol); oh yeah, bubba, is Gmail good? I've heard of it when they were giving invites to people, but haven't heard much from the people in here who are using it, so I wouldn't mind a little bit of info there....other than that, yeah I would like an invite for Gmail, why not bubba :)
