AMD Athlon XP 2400+ "Thorton" with disabled 256KB

Post by kpothuwila »

As Xbitlabs reports, there are 2400+ cpu's with Thorton core for sale in Japan. Thorton's extra 256KB cache is disabled. 2400+ & lower models will also be Thorton.

When you enable the extra cahce by locking up the L2 bridges you've got a Barton for cheap which overclocks like hell.

Guys @ Overclockers.ru have done this trick & overclocked the Thorton-->Barton cpu's to 2300(1.648) & 2400(1.728v) MHz.
Pretty impressive
