Reference Cooling

Post by Wavid »

Is the Batmobile good enough to cool a 5770/5850? Rather, should I get a Vapor-X which cools better but keeps warm(er) air INside the case, or should I get myself a reference cooler from, let's say, XFX and have it exhaust OUT of the case?

And is the "720 Unified Shader" deal still happening? I really don't want to flash a BIOS of a shiny new card.

I'll probably get the XFX then.

And apparently some of Sapphire's Vapor-X 5770's had a defective BIOS that disabled 80 of the 800 shaders.

I ran the reference coolers on the XFX 5770'S XXX in crossfire and they ran really cool....Idle around 40c and underload never went past 60c with the fan speed set to 70% I believe...There a little noisy but

nothing really annoying that I would not buy them again....When gaming I could not hear them anyways...

The "Batmobile" HSF is sufficient else it wouldn't be used.

There is a BIOS update to fix this issue.
There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live.
