What Internet Browser is Fastest for Windows in 2010?
Internet browsers have been making a ton of headlines this week. Just in the past few days we've seen IE9 Preview 3, Google Chrome 5.0.376.86 and Firefox 3.6.4 all be released. With Flash 10.1 also coming out this month and HTML 5 taking off we figured that it would be a good time to look at the performance of 13 of the most used web browsers again. Read on to see which is fastest browser when it comes to JavaScripts!

dunno, i thought it was strange too. Guess Peacemaker didn't scale their result chart right when the coded the benchmark. Maybe they didn't expect browsers to reach that high or something.

This just shows one thing. Microsoft has completely lost touch with the market. Hell their newest (IE 9) is still lagging behind bad browsers like Safari. I like the option box that Europeans have when they install Windows 7. If it were up to me that should be standard no matter what country the user is installing the OS. I briefly tried Opera and while I did like the UI the plug-in support and overall feel didn't keep my attention like FF has.

I use Chrome about 75% of the time..It's fast but it takes a while to get used to it but I like it...The only real complaint I have about it is the
UI, as it is rather drab looking....

Firefox was updated to v3.6.6 today. Installed it and FF seems to be snappier. This an illusion or does anyone else notice it?

I noticed a bit more swiftness after the 3.6.6 update and updating Flash to 10.1. I did both pretty much at the same time.

Interesting, thanks Nate. I'm not too sure about using chrome though. I dunno what Google has going on with all my surfing habits and stuff. I think I'm going to finally give Opera a fair run (I've only ran it for short periods of time before -- like several hours here and there) and see how that fairs.

Chrome is a lot faster than Firefox. The UI is a little plain and not "standard". And it doesn't work with my online banking site...

It looks skewed due to the way the data is portrayed. So, i guess the lesson is don't look at the pretty picture but instead look at the hard data and analyze it for yourself.

skewed?
What do you mean?
I started the chart at 0, so no skewing should be taking place.

firefox 3.6.6 is the same as 3.6.4... they just lengthened the time a program is 'crashed' for older PC's...
read more on it here -

That is the only change or fix in the log. No performance differences and yes I checked.

I've tried Chrome a few times but:
1) It uses just as much RAM as FF, unlike Google claims.
2) The plugin support isn't there.
3) The customization isn't there.
4) It's plugin of adblock is archaic.
5) Minor - But lack of a home button is aggravating.
