NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 Video Card Specs Leaked! - GF104

Post by skier »

This past weekend while everyone here in America was enjoying Independence Day weekend, it seems NVIDIA was prepping for their latest release in the GeForce GTX 460. Another Fermi variation, the GTX 460 appears to have very similar specs to the GTX 465 having a few fewer Cuda cores but clocked a bit higher. Below you see some basic specs which I found from a translation of a Heise.de article, mainly noting the base reference design (Ref.) is featuring 768MB of GDDR5 on 192-Bit while add-in board partners (AIB) such as EVGA MSI and ASUS etc. can offer 1GB of GDDR5 on a 256-Bit bus. According to Haise's source, the projected price range is to be from $230 to $250 depending if it's reference design. Expect to see a full review here in the coming days once NVIDIA makes the official release!

Newegg had posted them but pulled them(as out of stock) and did not fully remove them!

Id love to see how 2 of these in SLI compare to a single GTX480. 672 cores vs 480 at the same cost, with the same or more ram, oooh.

don't see the point in releasing the 460! i mean, we have the 465 and from the specs not really any difference so i thought  it seems that the 460 with the clocks speed being higher than the 465 it gives it more memory bandwith and texture fill rate giving it better performance over the 465 and it will be about £180 in the UK as where the 465 is currently £220 so if you ask me this should really be a good one to test against the 465 :)

im expecting the 460 to be right next to a 5830(based on the 465's numbers), above a 5770, way below a 5850 and a bit below a 465, cuda cores do count.

It could potentially fill a niche between a 5770 and a 465 i guess. The 465 cards seem to be dropping in price though, I could see the 465 retailing for $250 in under the month, and 460 cards at $199; especially since you can already get a GTX 470 from Gigabyte off New Egg for $300 after rebate.
