EVGA GeForce GTX 460 768MB SC SLI Video Card Review

On Monday we showed you in our NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 video card launch article that the GTX 460 is the best performing DirectX 11 graphics card for under $229. When EVGA called us and asked us to review a pair of their EVGA GeForce GTX 460 768MB SuperClocked video cards in SLI we jumped at the chance. Read on to see what a pair of GTX 460 768MB video cards can do when run in SLI!

Image
EVGA has done a superb job with the GeForce GTX 460 768MB SuperClocked edition video card. They took the NVIDIA reference design that we loved so much in our launch review and tweaked it by giving it even higher clock speeds. This give the GeForce GTX 460 768MB even more horse power for gaming and that is something you can never have enough of. They also back the model that we tested with a limited lifetime warranty, so if the card should ever fail in the years to come you won't be left high and dry with a dead card and empty pockets. The EVGA GeForce GTX 460 768MB SuperClocked video card was found to be 6-11% faster than the NVIDIA reference design. This is a significant performance difference and for not having to mess with any software it was really nice for those that just want to install some video cards and not having to mess with overclocking software.

Umm, Wow! They did a hell of a job with the GTX460's! Scaling and overall performance is impressive to say the least.

Man this card is a beast. I might have to replace my 4870's with a pair of these.

When is Nvidia's response to ATI's Eyenfinity suppose to come out?

The overclocked conclusion part made me roll my eyes. 7%, 3 FPS, Significant :) I wonder if the performance gain is really worth it compared to the increase in power consumption and the stress its putting on the card.

Hey anything over 5% is significant and in really tough benchmarks you can actually see the difference... You run Heaven 2.1 at 1920x1200 with everything on high and you can see the difference with the card at stock (factory overclock) and then our manual overclock. I promise!

Thanks! Not a bad setup.

Very nice. I'd like to see how the 1GB version change the numbers... :)

Might want to check out their RMA process to make sure it is up to par. Last time I heard they were paying a guy in the US to do it from his garage and was a solo operation. Not sure how that is flying today. They haven't had any contact with Legit Reviews in well over a year since they closed down in the USA and then re-opened just recently. Also what is their warranty? 2 years, but you have to register and keep the original receipt?

http://www.palit.biz/main/rma.php?lang=us

A company that leaves the US and then outsources their RMA department kinda worries me. Just being honest and not picking on Palit. I love their designs, but their warranty and RMA seems lacking compared to other companies.
