Re: Hide your kids, hide your wives...
Well I may just have to beg and plead with the wife to pick up the i7-960 or i7-970
I would need to do a whole build though since i dont have any ddr3 or high end power supply's lying around - gonna try though LOL

Remember, I am opinionated and nothing I say or do reflects on anyone or anything else but me

Thanks! Yep, SR-2. 2- x5650@ 3.6. Pulls right at 410w constant with a pair of stock fan H50's. CPU temps are nice and cool at 50c. I could easily push it higher but this is really close to the sweet spot of these processors.
If you're going to get a 960 you may as well just get a 950. They are $200 at microcenter right now. In fact, I have one less than a week old that I'll sell you for a decent price.KnightRid wrote:Well I may just have to beg and plead with the wife to pick up the i7-960 or i7-970

Re: Hide your kids, hide your wives...
What happened? You stopped folding with big-adv. Why?
Re: Hide your kids, hide your wives...
It crashed on a p6900 just a few days after I left town and I haven't really messed with it. It just finished another SMP unit so I fired up -bigadv. It's running stock clocks at the moment but I probably won't run too many of these over the next couple of weeks, I have a ton of stuff going on and will need some of the processing power.
