2600k vs 950?

Post by Aniki »

I'm debating whether to get an i7 950+some Tri-SLI mobo or a 2600k and P8P67 Pro. 2600k and P8P67 pro will cost me around $470 ($280 CPU at microcenter, $190 mobo), i7 950 ($230 at MC) and some x58 mobo (unsure) will cost me about $430, but I can get an IDE board and not have to get a new HDD if I go 1366. Also note I already have 8 GB of dual channel RAM, so sandy bridge would be a "better" option in a way.

Thanks for any feedback

I would upgrade that IDE HDD too. A $50 drive will perfom soooo much better then your drive. Maybe get the 2500k and also get a SSD drive.

+1

the blue is a good drive, and isn't nearly as loud as the Caviar Black
