Keyboard/ mice suggestions?

Post by lordvic »

Been looking to "upgrade" my keyboard and mice. My brother has now claimed my mouse+keyboard as his property, and the old man doesn't like me using the mouse from his PC (he is using a wired mice at the moment since I took it) and he uses the PC for watching movies & such on the TV. Basically, I'm currently using some random keyboard and a mouse that's not mine.

Anyways, I've been looking at the following keyboards, but any suggestions, experience, and opinions would be great.
- Logitech G110
- Steel Series Merc Stealth

Mice; haven't decided yet.

I wish to keep the keyboard price under $100, and mice under $80.

I'm trying to avoid Microsoft keyboards & mice because I've had bad experiences with them in the past, and they seem to wear out really quick. Haven't tried Steel Series products before, but from reviews they're pretty good, so I may give them a try.

Thanks.

I'm kind of a Logitech fanboi when it comes to peripherals and have had very few bad experiences with their products. I am with you regarding M$ stuff, the worst. Comfort is the big thing, when I put my hand on a mouse I know instantly whether or not it will work for me. Go someplace like a Best Buy and get your hands on some of the mice they have. That way you can at least feel the buttons, wheel, and hand.
I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong.

My experience with Razer products is you either like them or you hate them. My older Deathadder is lighter than most mice and I know most of you prefer heavier mice for gaming.

Concerning the keyboard I can't comment, I'm rocking a $15 MS Comfort Keyboard. I don't need an LCD on my board or other macro keys that I'll never program.

The MS comfort keys keyboard is nice a keyboard. I brutalized mine for two years before I switched to a new one.

I use a Logitech G5 laser mouse and a Razer Blackwidow keyboard. I absolutely love this keyboard, but mostly because it is mechanical and the feel of the keys is just fantastic to me. It is loud though.

+ 1 for the Logitech keyboard that Dragonfury recommended. This is the one I use. I game and watch movies etc and the white backlight is the easiest to use for me. The other backlit keyboards (red, green, blue) are either too dim or annoying.

I also use the G5 mouse. The good thing about it is the ability to adjust the weight and balance to best suit your needs.

That said these things are very user specific so headed to best buy to try some out is the best bet.

I love my Gigabyte GHOST M8000x and have since I reviewed it

keyboard doesn't really matter at all to me (I play most FPS and Rappelz mmo) except that the G15 doesn't work with musicbee currently (the audio buttons for next/last/play/stop don't work while playing several games) I don't even know the manufacturer of my current keyboard, but it has a button to pull up the calculator, and 7 audio keys which is all I need from a keyboard

couldn't live without my Razer mousepad tho

Bahamut I play whenever I have enough time to do a DP because I've been mainly leveling pets (just started playing in January, lv106 SB) started playing because a bunch of friends from school play

and yes, my M8000x is a very solid mouse, can add a lot of weight too
