We've visited similar offerings from Zalman's Computer Noise Prevention System (CNPS) products with the Zalman ZM-F3-FDB & ZM-SF3, along with the CNPS 9900 MAX. We at Legit Reviews have come to respect the Zalman products we have seen since they perform admirably and live up to their claims. Today was no different. Zalman's ZM-F4 Multipurpose Fan was probably one of the best fans I have ever run into. Its sound was as smooth as butter. It outperformed most offerings on the market. To be frank, though, I personally would have liked to have seen Zalman skip the odd size of this fan and move up to a traditional 140mm fan frame and 140mm fan mounting holes. I only say this because that's a segment of the market that's lacking in good quality products.

Noctua makes a very good quality 140mm fan. If the colour will be a reason not to buy it, other options are Thermalright TY-140, Scythe Kaze Maru or some NoiseBlockers. But more competition is always welcome.

Noiseblocker's can be $20-30 per fan.
Noctua's P14 fans use 120mm mounting with 140mm clips that add about 2mm of width to the fan. They also lack static pressure, while costing $20-25
The TY-140 is an amazing fan but only comes with 120mm mounting.

Most good 140mm fans either have a flaw in the physical design, or are not worth the money. Though there are many good OEM designs that companies could use.
